Neerly How it works

Terms of Use

Effective October 10, 2026

The short version

  • Share your own location, with people who are happy to get it. Don't use Neerly to track anyone.
  • Neerly is not an emergency service. Notifications can be late or not arrive. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.
  • What you write stays yours. Neerly, its buddies and its design belong to Umunhum Labs LLC.
  • Neerly is free today. If you buy Neerly Plus later, you can cancel any time.

1. Agreeing to these terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Umunhum Labs LLC ("we", "us"), which makes Neerly. By creating an account or using Neerly (the app, neerly.net and share links), you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Neerly.

If you only watch a share from a link, the parts about using Neerly fairly, our rights, no warranty and limits on liability still apply.

2. Who can use Neerly

You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the EU and UK, unless a parent or guardian agrees). If you use Neerly for an organization, you confirm you can accept these terms for it.

3. Your account

4. Using Neerly fairly

Neerly is for sharing your own location, with your consent and theirs. You agree not to:

We may remove content, limit features or suspend accounts that break these rules.

5. Not an emergency service

Neerly's ETA, arrival, "5 min away" and "Let them know if I'm late" features are conveniences. They depend on your device, its battery, GPS, the network and push services, and can be wrong, late or missing. For example, a browser may stop sending location when the phone is locked. Don't rely on Neerly for anyone's safety. In an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency number.

6. What you post

Your name, statuses, place names and other things you add stay yours. You give us permission to store them and show them to the people you share with, only to run Neerly. This permission ends when you delete them or your account (except copies others have already seen).

7. Our rights

Neerly, including its name, logo, buddies, outfits, artwork, design and software, belongs to Umunhum Labs LLC and is protected by copyright and trademark law. © 2026 Umunhum Labs LLC. All rights reserved. We give you a personal, non-transferable permission to use Neerly under these terms. You may share trip postcards and screenshots of your own shares.

If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them without owing you anything.

Neerly is free. We may offer paid features (such as Neerly Plus). If we do:

Safety features (arrival, ETA, the late check) and watching shares will stay free.

9. Other services

Neerly uses maps from OpenStreetMap contributors, weather from Open-Meteo, and links to other apps such as Google Maps. We're not responsible for those services, and their terms may apply.

10. No warranty

Neerly is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we don't promise it will always be available, error-free or accurate, including locations, distances and ETAs.

11. Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, Umunhum Labs LLC is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, arising from your use of Neerly. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or US $50. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you. Nothing here limits rights you have as a consumer that can't be waived.

You agree to cover us for claims caused by your breaking these terms or the law.

12. Ending your use

You can stop using Neerly and delete your account any time (Profile → Delete account). We may suspend or end accounts that break these terms, or stop offering Neerly, with notice where reasonable. If we stop offering Neerly, we'll refund the unused part of any paid subscription.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes go to the state or federal courts in Santa Clara County, California, unless the law where you live gives you the right to bring them at home. Please contact us first; most things can be sorted out by email.

14. Changes and contact

We may update these terms. We'll change the date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using Neerly after that, the new terms apply.
